NASA Research Aircraft Makes Emergency Belly Landing at Houston Airport

A NASA research aircraft was forced to make an emergency belly landing at Ellington Airfield in Houston today due to a mechanical failure mid-flight. Flames were seen coming from the plane before touchdown, but both crew members aboard landed safely and were unharmed. Emergency crews responded quickly, and the runway was temporarily closed for removal of the aircraft.
